Drunk Fooood! Snack Dragon in the Lower East Side hits the spot.

If you are in the Lower East Side in the wee hours of the morning after seeing a show or hanging out in the bars around the area and have a craving for tacos, then Snack Dragon is your spot!   They are open till 4:30 in the morning and it's right in the middle of the action right on Orchard St between Stanton and Rivington St.  Note that they also have an East Village location as well!  When I went, it was actually to grab a quick bite before a show at the Mercury Lounge for this cool Florence and the Machine-esque band (from England as well) called Esben and the Witch.   Whatever time you go though, you won't go wrong if you just want something quick and easy.

Snack Dragon is a very cool taco shack with a quirky decor and small no frills menu that features tacos and nachos.  You can just order at the window for a quick grab and go, or sit inside which features a counter area and some seats.

Move over Korean tacos! Their Thai inspired Umami Taco was great!  Pork slaw with five spice, coriander, and topped with pickled onions, cucumbers, and spicy crushed peanuts. Delicious!

The other taco was a fish taco, with grilled sole, tangy chipotle coleslaw, and radish!
Also great!

Here's a quick look at some of the tacos on the menu...for a full list click here.

They actually have two locations...one in the Lower East Side and one in the East Village.
