Food Truck Review: Dragon Beard Cart in Chinatown

Dragon beard candy is so named because of the spun sugar wrapped around a sweet peanuty filling, giving the candy a light, almost airy cotton candy-like consistency.  I was walked up to Chinatown after work one day and for the first time saw that there was a tiny food cart that sold just these Chinese sweet treats, right in Chinatown.  Called Yao's Dragon Beard Candy, the cart also was a 2010 Vendy (Food Truck Awards) dessert finalist!

For $3, you get 6 pieces of candy, it tastes great and the sugar is very fluffy.

Here's the cart, which I was happy I stumbled upon.  It's located right on Canal between
Elizabeth and Bowery.
